Don't I Look Darling In Red? (Or, HOLIDAY GIVEAWAY)


This Christmas, I'm celebrating YA in a big way. Despite our differences, YA has brought me some great characters, some great plots, and writing and all-round inspiration. I definitely have some favourites or books I'm dying to read and for the season of giving, I want to share with you. I'll be giving away a book, some are pre-orders, current releases, sequels, from the list below. 

Go on, pick one. Any one.








Truthfully, that list is more like a recommendations list. Really, any book that you want, be it a pre-order, current release, sequel or whatever, I'm willing to hear whatever it is that you're dying to read this holidays.

Now, just some details.
  1. This giveaway is open internationally, as long as Book Depository delivers to you.
  2. You must be a follower of this blog.
  3. You must comment below with a book you'd like to receive or give away this Christmas.
  4. You must be at least 13+ to enter or have your parent email me with permission.
  5. One entry per person.

      My vote is for SHATTER ME, but I haven't read ANY of the above so my real answer is "whatever". hehe

      Ooh, that's such a difficult choice! I would honestly love to read all of the books you've listed there (except Matched as I've already read it). I can really only narrow it down to Black Heart, City of Lost Souls, and Insurgent because those are the ones I'm most anticipating in 2012! As for giving, I'd love to give someone a copy of The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms by N.K. Jemisin! I'm in love with her writing, so I think it needs some more recognition. Actually, my friend will probably be getting the book for Christmas.

      Insurgent is top of the list :D (I'm also thrilled for Cinder, Legend [which is among my Christmas presents], A Million Suns, Incarnate, Under the Never Sky and The Fault in Our Stars. Matched was great, and what I've read of Shatter Me so far is amazing)

    Show Me Yours, a Blogfest

    Ooh, look! It's a post. Finally. I am aware that it's been a while, but I've been swept up in the NYE-slash-work-slash-revisions world that has now become my life. Anyways. A while ago, I signed up to a blogfest over at Falen Formulates Fiction , by the charming name of Show Me Yours . I know that to many northern hemisphere natives that it's only the 2nd of January, however, down here in Australia, it's the 3rd. Therefore, I am early. I couldn't find an excerpt from my NaNo, mostly because I haven't touched it since the 1st of December. This blogfest deadline really snuck up on me, and I don't really have time to comb through and then edit a scene, so I'll be lazy and give you an excerpt from my novel, RETURN, which is seizing my sanity and my sleep.     Honey You Should See Me In a Crown I (Or, What BBC Sherlock Teaches Us: Antagonists and Villains and Bad Baddies)

    BBC's  Sherlock -  the reincarnation of Arthur Conan Doyle's detective in 21st century London. In its second series, it only has six episodes, but confounds me in its ability to be perfect. I'm a snob about film and TV, but I'll also be first to say it's the finest piece of storytelling on TV in a while. We writers can learn from it, so welcome to my all-rounder series: Honey, You Should See Me in a Crown . I will be dissect this king of entertainment, created by Steven Moffat (of Doctor Who fame, a fan favourite since Blink, The Girl in the Fireplace and  Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead ) and Mark   Godtiss Gatiss (who also plays Mycroft Holmes in the series).
